About Us
Dr. Terriyln C. Rivers-Canon (Dr. RC) is a certified school social worker and Founder & CEO of “Soar with K.A.T.I.E. (Karing Actions Towards Inspiring Eagles)” which is a public influential motivational speaking platform that is dedicated to the field of Social Work in honor of her late Aunt, Katie Mae Rivers Tindal.
Dr. RC received her Doctor of Educational Leadership (2007) and Educational Specialist (2006) degrees from Argosy University in Sarasota FL. She received a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from Florida State University (1993) and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Voorhees College (1990).
In addition to being a certified school social worker, Dr. RC is proud to also be a Clinical Trauma Specialist(CCTSS), Mental Health First Aid Instructor, Facilitator with the Council on Alcohol and Drugs for both STOP and SUPER Stop Programs (Alcohol & Drug prevention program), and a Question Persuade Refer (QPR) Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Instructor.

Dr. RC was presented with a Georgia Department of Education Certificate during the State Board meeting in Recognition of Exemplary Leadership for representing Georgia’s Public Schools with Distinction as the 2019 National School Social Worker, along with being the First Female African American, and Georgia recipient by School Superintendent Richard Woods in 2020.
